I built this game for the 34th Ludum dare. I created everything myself in under 48 hours. Enjoy!

creative, and I quite enjoyed my short time with it

Fun little game. Got 479 at first try, of course depends a bit on luck. Might be a nice one to teach some math to young kids as well, especially in the numeric range where it is most needed to develop a routine skill for basic arithmetic.

got 354. very nice game.

That moment when you kill yourself by using some switch attack with defence buff, when your attack is at zero.....

Pretty cool little math game.  However I noticed one issue where you could run into situations were none of your card could defeat an opponent. I feel like there should always be some possible solution or some way of avoiding dead ends.

This is pretty nice. :0

Got a score of around 64 on my first playthrough if I remember? It's probs not impressive lol. But I enjoyed it.

Lovely little game. The art for it is really good.

That's some fun mental math exercise! I also liked how it rewards thinking fast and using as many cards as possible. And the art is pretty, with a nice palette to it! The puns are great too, had a laugh with some of them.
Got to 466 score! Would have been really interesting to see more card effects and monsters. Maybe a higher difficulty cap. Great job on this one! :D

Found a small glitch, if you hit end turn at the end of the tutorial it doesn't give you an option to return the main menu.

when i run the game....it won't load the game it stay black.

Do you mean the APK? Cause that is a file for android.

yea thats the one....and oh I didn't know at all really....

That was a fantastic card game in my opinion! Not just that the pixel art was wonderful to look at, but also the tactical gameplay! It's not just purely luck based, instead one has to have some good foresight skills to estimate, if the own hand right now is good enough to survive more rounds or if it would be better to change the cards. Happily I recommended this entry for the Ludum Dare 34 in an article on our blog and also uploaded a quick gameplay video of it. :) Keep up the wonderful work!

Best wishes,
Sebastian

Great work! Thank you!

Can you do a tutorial about this game?

This is math! i like math.... anyway, good job for turning a card game into a virtual game, i would like to see this done in other ways

Good game! Sounds and visuals are tight. I started to get bored around 186. Do the enemies ever get higher than 15? I didn't feel challenged.

hello i was curious if you have a tutorial for making a gaming like the griffin card game or something similar?

For a 48 hours work is very good :D

Maybe a background loop will make this more enjoyable uvu

PD: i love your pixel art, actually im going to buy the lessons on udemy c:

Greetings from México n.n/

Too bad I have to pay for the apk. but looking forward if you want to translate this in Greek. I find it incredible for maths and logic and it would be perfect if I could get a greek version of it for the students here! I would love to translate it!

I'd be open to giving out the APK and game for free to students :)

!!! I am a student of you in udemy! And also a student outside of udemy! I can also prove it! The thing that i was talking about is for students in my dad's math class. Anyways, thanks!

Did a little LP of this:

Great question! I'm currently working on an APK version with upgraded mechanics, a better tutorial, and fixed bugs. I should have it out within the next few days.

Ok Nice!

Can you upload a version where you can skip the tutorial please?

Thanks for the comment. I'll see what I can do. Are you on Windows or Mac?

Windows 7 Professional.

You should be able to download the Windows exe file here on itch then and play it that way. It has saving and only makes you do the tutorial once :)

As for removing the tutorial from the web version I'll be doing that but not till after the compo. Hope this helps.

Ben

Pretty dope

Thanks :)
